DCP is delighted to be providing dilapidations advice to the Oasis and Warehouse group.
With the growing popularity of on-line shopping, like many High St. retailers Oasis/Warehouse are taking a long hard look at the profitability of their existing premises before entering into new leases. Whilst they have an ongoing expansion programme the state of the retail sector has also led them to consider a number of a store disposals.
As tenant, the retailer has a contractual responsibility to return a property to the landlord in an agreed state of repair and condition, referred to as dilapidations.
Over the last 9 months our surveyors have travelled the length and breadth of the country reviewing dilapidations claims on retail properties leased by Oasis/Warehouse. These properties varied in age, construction and state of repair. As a result of this review we’ve managed to achieve for our client an average reduction of 67% on claims settled to date.
