Overstrand Hall is a Grade II Listed Lutyens Manor House, built around 1901. Set in 8 acres of land, the house was initially used as a weekend retreat for the aristocratic Mills family. During WW1 it was used as a military hospital and subsequently a convalescent home. It is currently a Kingswood outward bound centre, hosting groups of school children on residential activity breaks.
Initially appointed to carry out a survey of the complex roof on the house, Daniel Connal Partnership subsequently acted as contract administrator on the project to carry out repairs to the roof
Overstrand Hall, Cromer
Works were procured by the traditional route under a JCT Minor Works Contract. The activity centre remained open throughout the duration of the project. Works, including the erection of scaffolding were phased to accommodate the guests and ensure their safety. During the project all windows surrounded by scaffold were netted to protect the privacy of the children, teachers and instructors in residence.
