The ‘new’ Wells Maltings – not long now!
One of our longest running projects – the £4m development of historic Wells Maltings has reached a significant milestone – practical completion!
Whilst it won’t be open to the public for a few weeks yet, to enable the finishing touches to be made to the internal spaces, it does mean that all the major building work is complete and that it won’t be long until the ‘new’ Wells Maltings is unveiled.
An amazing community asset, for the people of Wells and its surrounding villages, the Maltings is also a huge draw for the thousands of visitors that the pretty north Norfolk town attracts throughout the year, DCP is proud to have been involved with the project from the very start – way back in 2013!
We initially helped the Well Maltings Trust with cost advice in support of their successful Stage 1 Heritage Lottery bid. Subsequently appointed as Quantity Surveyors on the project, once the scheme passed Stage 2 of the Heritage Lottery funding process and received planning permission we were also appointed as project managers.
The scheme embodies the vision of the Wells Maltings Trust to provide a state of the art community and arts facility for North Norfolk. When it does open to the public, visitors will enjoy a ‘user centered’ heritage and learning centre, café, central box office and an auditorium and community space.
