TENNIS COURT REFURBISHMENT, HINGHAM
Project: Tennis Court Refurbishment
Client: Hingham Tennis Club
Services provided: Feasibility advice, site survey, condition report and budget estimates
Contract value: £91k
DCP was very pleased to assist a small charity group in Norfolk with their big plans to bring two neglected tennis courts back into use for the local community.
Having carried out an initial site survey we provided a comprehensive condition report, budget estimates and technical advice on what would be required to bring the courts back into use. The charity was able to use this information to support its successful funding application to Sport England, who awarded the project a grant of £75k. Further fund raising took the total to £91k which allowed complete refurbishment of the floodlit hard courts, surfaced with non-slip porous macadam, and the provision of a Tennis Hut adjacent to the courts for players and spectators.
Following completion of the project, we were delighted when the newly formed Hingham Tennis Club won the Lawn Tennis Association’s Club of the Year award 2016 which was presented during the Wimbledon Championships in 2017.
Club Founder, Lindsey Read said ‘DCP were very supportive of our vision for the old courts and, thanks to their prompt and very professional service and advice, we had all the information we needed to help us secure the funding to make it happen.’
