ST. GEORGE’S CE PRIMARY SCHOOL, BROMLEY
Project: Extension & refurbishment of primary school
Client: Neilcott Construction
Services provided: Architectural Services, Principal Designer
Contract value: £2.2m
St George’s CE Primary School is a small community primary school in Bromley, Kent. This extension and refurbishment scheme would allow it to accommodate rising pupil numbers.
The existing school was originally constructed in 1869 and subsequently re-built following bomb damage in WW2.
Daniel Connal Partnership was initially appointed by Neilcott Construction to provide architectural drawings and design support for the construction phase of the project. We were delighted to then be appointed by them as Principal Designer under CDM 2015.
The 42 week scheme saw the provision of new classrooms and toilets facilities. Comprehensive internal re-configuration and the re-positioning of some external features provided a hall/dance studio area and improved access at all levels maximising the space available on the constrained school site.
