63 Lincoln’s Inn Fields is an imposing 8 storey building in the largest public square in London. Built around 1880, the Royal College of Radiologists, is reputed to be the first reinforced concrete famed structure in the UK.
The Daniel Connal Partnership was appointed by the client to undertake a comprehensive building survey inspection of the property and grounds and to establish a ten year Planned Maintenance Programme covering the upkeep and repair of all external and internal elements, including service installations.
A Planned Maintenance Programme anticipates future costs of maintenance and building works, so that the client can plan and allocate budgets and schedule works to minimise disruption.
As experts in defect analysis and building pathology, DCP was able to identify current and potential future problems and specify suitable repairs, appropriate to the property and tailored to the client’s requirements & available budget. Works were then scheduled to take place during less busy periods to reduce disruption to operational and educational activities.
Following successful completion of this brief, DCP was delighted to be appointed to project manage the Year 2 works identified in its original Planned Maintenance Programme.
