RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT, RENDLESHAM PARK, SUFFOLK
Project: Development of 75 new homes on greenfield site at edge of village settlement
Client: Capital Community Devlopements
Services provided: Project Management, Quantity Surveying
Contract value: £15m
This £15m development is on a greenfield site at the edge of Rendlesham in Suffolk, currently farmland but designated for housing within the local plan.
This site is adjacent to a previous development of homes by the client.
Daniel Connal Partnership was appointed as Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor on the project, alongside architects, Nicolas Jacobs Architects, structural engineers, JMS and services consultants, Williams Holloway Associates.
The housing, site layout and construction methods adopted for the development are in accordance with the principles of Maharishi Vashtu architecture. This ancient system of architecture has strict rules governing the orientation and proportions of the building and emphasises the use of natural or eco-friendly materials.
One third of the 75 homes being built will be allocated as affordable housing.
The project is due to commence on site during 2020.
