BROADWAY COLOURS, HOLTON, SUFFOLK
Project: Production facility refurbishment & alteration works
Client: Broadway Colours
Services provided: Project Management, Contract Administration, Quantity Surveying,
Design & CDM services
Contract value: £700k
This development on behalf of Broadway Colours saw the transformation of a former turkey processing plant, into a state of the art production facility for materials used to colour plastics.
Daniel Connal Partnership was delighted to provide project management, design, contract administration, quantity surveying and CDM-Services on the 16 week programme.
The original buildings, comprising offices and warehouses, offered generous accommodation but were tired with inefficient, outdated services and extensively subdivided which did not suit our client’s intended use of the space.
Alterations to the existing offices included the replacement of doors and windows to meet current thermal performance regulations and the installation of a lift and external ramps to make the building fully accessible. The inefficient layout was comprehensively reworked to provide a large Boardroom, open plan offices and meeting rooms.
A design feature of the redecoration scheme was the use of bold primary colours on the internal doors; a reference to the Client’s particular business activity.
Works to the existing warehouses included the removal of unnecessary subdivisions to create 3 large, open plan, interlinked spaces; the removal of lorry loading bays; the installation of a large roller shutter door to suit the client’s production machinery and repairs to damaged wall cladding & leaking roofs.
Following the successful completion of the project the Client is now operating from a modern, efficient, purpose designed production facility.
