Client: Private Client
Services provided: Quantity Surveying, Party Wall Services, CDM Services
Contract value: Undisclosed
This substantial Edwardian villa, built in 1927, is set in walled grounds adjacent to the Parish Church, and located in a conservation area on the Suffolk coast.
The owners wished to update and sympathetically remodel the interior of the property, construct a new garage block with annex, build a pool house to serve the existing swimming pool and landscape the surrounding gardens.
Daniel Connal Partnership were appointed as Quantity Surveyors and to provide Party Wall and CDM services on the project with Nicholas Jacob Architects.
The programme of works included rendering the exterior of the house, the demolition of earlier flat roof extensions to address historic changes to the frontage of the property and some internal reconfiguration to improve the layout of accommodation.
The owners were keen to retain the gracious period feel of the property, preserving many existing features whilst updating the both the interior and exterior with sensitive design choices and use of materials.
DCP was very pleased to be involved in this successful project which has transformed the already handsome building into a bright, and modern, home which retains the character and charm of the original Edwardian villa.
