Our client bought a former post office situated in a row of terraced houses in the picturesque Norfolk village of Castle Acre, with the intention of extensively remodelling and extending it.
Daniel Connal Partnership determined that there were notifiable works under the Party Wall Act relevant to the properties adjoining both sides of the Old Post Office. In particular, works to the party wall itself under section 2 of the act and, excavation for & casting of, concrete foundations and installation of foul drains under section 6 of the Act.
We ensured the smooth running of the statutory process and provided clear impartial advice on complex ownership issues including flying freeholds which enabled the project to be completed to the satisfaction of both our client and his neighbours.
