Client: Le Creuset
Services provided: CDM Services

Le Creuset, established in 1925 in Northern France, is famous for its vibrant coloured cast iron enamelled cookware & stoneware and wide range of kitchen accessories. Extremely popular, the company has prospered in the UK with 13 Flagship and Boutique stores and 13 Outlet Stores.
Daniel Connal Partnership were delighted to be appointed as CDM Co-ordinators on the Fit Out of their new North London premises.
This 156 m²store in the heart of up-market Muswell Hill, is Le Creuset’s 13th Boutique store and extends over the ground and basement floors of three story Edwardian property, the upper two floors being separate residential units.
The project comprised the installation of a new shop front, full retail and back of house fit-out, a new electric system and re-plumbing all within an extremely tight timescale.
We were appointed early on in the project which enabled us to consider all aspects of the design and relevant health and safety issues prior to commencement on site.
Every project has its challenges and initially on this project it was the occupied flats above the retail premises. Access for the residents had to be maintained at all times even though the same route was required for entry to the site. There were also restrictions on noisy works.
Alerting the appointed Principal Contractor to these restrictions at tender stage enabled them to make allowances to ensure that access routes both to the site and the residential properties could be maintained in safe order. They were also able to establish good communications with the affected residents and neighbouring retail units, so that notification of noisy works could be provided in advance and disruption reduced.
The plans and procedures put in place by the experienced Daniel Connal team ensured that the 6 week project was concluded successfully, safely and on schedule for our clients.
