The Daniel Connal Partnership was appointed as Employer’s Agent on this multi phased project to provide 34 affordable units for Flagship Housing under a Section 106 Agreement.
The one and two bedroom flats and two and three bedroom houses, for affordable rent and built by Persimmon Homes, are part of a much larger project to revitalise a disused brownfield site as a sustainable urban extension to the outskirts of Colchester. The development had outline planning permission for 800 houses and other community facilities. From our appointment we produced a budget estimate for the scheme and completed a detailed review of the development agreement in comparison with Flagship’s Design and Construction Brief to ensure that the completed houses would be in accordance with their usual requirements.
The project is being completed in phases, to allow a manageable handover of properties to the client. Phases 1 (14 units) and 2 (20 units) were completed on time and on budget.
Phase 3, a further 80 units, in three parcels of land is currently on site and scheduled for completion later this year.
