HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC PRIMARY ACADEMY, HARLOW
Project: New block containing seven classrooms, cooking and music rooms
Client: Diocese of Brentwood
Services provided: Quantity Surveying, CDM Services
Contract value: £1.9m
Holy Cross Catholic Primary Academy in Harlow wished to expand their facilities to cope with the high number of school place applications they were receiving year on year.
Daniel Connal Partnership was appointed by the Diocese of Brentwood as Quantity Surveyors and to provide CDM services on this ambitious project, procured via the traditional route, to provide a new block, containing seven classrooms, a cooking room and music room. We also assisted the Client in their funding negotiations with Essex County Council.
The new building is in very close proximity to the existing school accommodation, which remained in use throughout the build. Ensuring student safety was of paramount importance, as well as causing as little disruption as possible to the daily life of the School.
Measures implemented by DCP ensured that the project, providing bright and spacious accommodation for the School’s additional needs, was completed safely, on time and on budget.
Daniel Connal Partnership was very pleased to be part of the successful delivery of the new building, which was blessed by the Bishop of Brentwood in an opening ceremony at the start of the new school year in 2015.
