Established in 1938, Hethersett Old Hall School is an independent day school for boys aged 3-11 and girls aged 3-18 with boarding available to girls from the age of 9.
The practice was instructed to carry out condition surveys of all the buildings on the school site to enable the school to establish a routine maintenance programme and also identify key areas of the property requiring attention to allow prioritisation of funds.
Daniel Connal Partnership worked around the school calendar to ensure that the surveys were carried out at convenient times, preventing any disruption to the students’ learning. Prior to starting the surveys, we visited the school to ensure that the programme had been planned efficiently, again to prevent undue disruption to the daily life of the school.
Reports were prepared based on a Condition Rating from A-D and an urgency of repairs Priority Rating from 1 to 4, which ensured they were clear and easy to follow. Summary pages gave an overall assessment of the amount of money required to be spent in each building under each priority category, giving the school a clear indication of their potential outlay and allowing them to plan the allocation of monies on required repairs.
