GROVELANDS CENTRE EXTENSION
Client: North East London NHS Foundation Trust
Project: Extension and refurbishment of existing Child Development Centre
Services provided: Architectural Design, Cost Consultant
Contract value: £1.5m
The Daniel Connal Partnership was commissioned to carry out a feasibility study for the expansion and re-configuration of the existing Child Development Centre at Grovelands for the North East London NHS Foundation Trust.
The centre provides a paediatric led multi-disciplinary/multi-agency approach for the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of children with complex neurological disorders, learning difficulties, pervasive developmental disorders and developmental difficulties.
We had been involved in the original relocation of children’s services to Grovelands and were retained by the Trust to undertake feasibility studies to expand and develop the site’s potential to meet their needs for future consolidation of children’s services. The Daniel Connal team developed several options and presented architectural layouts and 3D models to illustrate the possibilities offered by the site.
Daniel Connal Partnership, as a multi-disciplinary practice, was able to provide budget costings for each option and advise on planning constraints and the necessary surveys required to realise the aspirations of the Trust to expand the Children’s Development Centre at Grovelands to take full advantage of the site’s potential.
