THE LISTED BUILDING
Project: Feasibility Study for reconfiguration of entrance and internal facilties in Grade II Listed Building
Client: Free Trade Wharf Management
Services provided: Feasibility Study
Contract value: £110k
The Daniel Connal Partnership was commissioned to conduct a feasibility study for the re-configuration of the existing leisure facilities at Free Trade Wharf, 340 The Highway in Wapping, London. The project included internal reconfiguration to house a new sauna and changing rooms, and re-modelling works to the swimming pool area and gym.
The Listed Buildings form luxury flat accommodation with private and public facilities.
Providing 3D Architectural design and modelling services, the Partnership was able to identify and realise additional space potential in an unused lobby area to site the new sauna and provide changing rooms for the facility.
This in turn enabled remodelling of the swimming pool area and created space for additional gym equipment.
The re-configuration also provided for a remodelled entrance lobby, from which the residents of the neighbouring listed building will have improved access to the facilities
Externally the design was developed to be aesthetically sympathetic to the original features of the 18th Century building allowing Listed Building (Grade II) consent to be granted by the local planning authority.
