COGGESHALL HALL, ESSEX
Project: Reinstatement of Grade II Listed Manor House following fire damage
Client: Private Client
Services provided: Quantity Surveying
Contract value: £600k
Daniel Connal Partnership was appointed to provide quantity surveying services on this project to reinstate historic Coggeshall Hall following a serious fire.
The Grade II Listed manor house had suffered extensive fire, smoke and water damage. Works to repair and refurbish the property were phased. The initial focus was on repairing the Georgian portion of the building which allowed our clients to return to their home whilst works to reinstate the remainder of the property continued.
Fire damage was particularly severe in the 16th century wing of the hall with the original roof and floor timbers bearing the brunt.
Refurbishment of the building involved the use of experienced specialists to repair and restore the original timbers, and reinstate the wattle and daub wall panels and lime plaster walls and ceilings.
DCP worked closely with architects Inkpen Downie and the loss adjusters to ensure the successful completion of this project.
