PRIVATE RESIDENCE, NORTH NORFOLK
Project: Reinstatement of Grade II Listed Hall following fire damage
Client: Private Client
Services provided: Advisor to Principal Designer
Contract value: Undisclosed
The Grade II listed hall in North Norfolk, dates mainly to the 18th century, incorporating some 16th century parts.
A major fire caused significant damage to the entire structure, including the loss of the roof and internal timber floors and staircases.
Daniel Connal Partnership acted as Advisors to the Principal Designer, Nicholas Jacob Architects, on this project to re-build the Hall.
The main Contractor was Austin Newport with G. Cook & Sons providing specialist plaster work.
Works included the reconstruction of many original features, with materials salvaged where possible and carefully matched with modern alternatives. The entire reconstruction process was carried out in close association with the local conservation officer and took some 3 years from the date of the fire to complete.
