GROVER HOUSE, CORRINGHAM
Project: Redevelopment of existing office accommodation into 10 residential appartments
Client: Vision 20 Property Ltd
Services provided: Quantity Surveying, Principal Designer
Contract value: £924k
Grover House is situated in Corringham’s town centre shopping precinct. It offered slightly dilapidated office accommodation on the upper floors with commercial units occupying the ground floor.
The client wished to redevelop the office accommodation into 10 residential apartments. Daniel Connal Partnership was appointed to as Quantity Surveyor on the project and also provided CDM2015 Principal Designer services. The lead consultants (as designer) & contractor were respectively, PJB Architectural Design and Mixbrow Construction.
The scheme was completed under permitted development.
The project team worked hard to provide value for money to the client who required a high quality finish, with low ongoing maintenance costs, on the apartments which were destined for the rental market.
The central location of Grover House, surrounded by other retail and residential properties, presented a number of challenges. We worked successfully with the development team to minimise disruption caused by the work, reducing the impact on neighbouring residents and businesses. The retail units on the ground floor of Grover House remained open throughout the redevelopment.
