DCP was appointed by the client to revise a previously approved scheme for the construction of a nine bay garage store in Suffolk. We also acted as Principal Designer under CDM2015.
The garage site lay to the North West of a Grade II Listed manor house. The revised scheme, to meet the client’s exacting specifications, provides garaging and repair space for a growing classic car collection, with the existing garage being given over to storage space for garden machinery.
The revision of the scheme necessitated the submission, and subsequent approval of, a non-material amendment to the planning permission together with listed building consent. Following receipt of this approval we continued to develop the designs through Building Control approval and up to construction. We subsequently undertook regular post contract inspections on the client’s behalf during the construction phase maintaining close liaison with the builder to address design clarifications.
To assist in keeping the new structure dry during the winter construction period the entire building was shrouded in a protective covering.
We were delighted to be working with this client again. Click here to see the case study for an indoor swimming pool extension.
