Client: Christian Liaigre
Services provided: Project Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Architectural & CDM Services
Contract value: £550k
Christian Liaigre established his first design studio in Paris in 1985, renowned for his elegant and refined interior design and luxurious hand crafted furniture, he has showrooms in Paris, London (Fulham), Bangkok, New York and St Barts.
Daniel Connal Partnership was delighted to be appointed to project manage and co-ordinate the fit-out of his prestigious new Mayfair showroom. Involved from concept to completion, DCP acted as contract administrator, quantity surveyor and provided architectural and CDM services.
The 375m² showroom, prominently situated at the corner of Conduit Street and Savile Row, extends over the basement and ground floors of the building.
The project covered the full retail and back-of-house fit-out of the showroom with high quality bespoke fixtures and fittings together with the installation of new external signage.
A particular challenge on this project was finding an appropriate location within the scheme design for air conditioning plant previously positioned on the roof of an adjacent building. Identifying an area at the rear of the building which, with some modification, could effectively house the plant, resolved this problem. We further commissioned an acoustic report to establish noise levels and demonstrate that the plant would not impact adversely on the surrounding environment. The report satisfied the planning authorities and permission for the potentially contentious air handling units was achieved for our client.
