Surrey Quays (SE16) in South East London is a relatively affordable London postcode.
The formally rundown dockland area was extensively redeveloped in the 1980s and 90s and most of the housing stock dates from that era.
With parks aplenty, marinas, cycleways and offering great transport links to the city and central London, Surrey Quays is definitely an up and coming area. Whilst much of the property in the area is modern, pockets of period buildings still exist. We have recently been appointed as Contract Administrator and Principal Designer on a project to extend the upper floors of a Victorian property on Lower Road.
Situated above commercial premises, the mansard roof extension and refurbishment will create a three-bedroom flat. Our client will be the first to carry out a roof extension to this row of properties. With the area on the up (no pun intended) others are likely to follow suit.
The scheme includes internal alterations, internal & external repair works and M&E installations. Communal areas will also be redecorated. We anticipate that works will commence in March, with completion later this year.
