Party Wall Act
Acting as Party Wall surveyor under The Party Wall ActParty wall surveying is governed by the legislation of the Party Wall etc. Act 1996. A ‘party wall’ is one that you share with your neighbour.
If you are a building owner wanting to carry out works to a party wall, excavate close to a neighbouring property or build on or close to your boundary, or an adjoining owner whose neighbour proposes to do any of those things, the Party Wall Act could apply to you.
Our experienced party wall surveyors will guide you impartially through the process, offer advice on the rights and remedies of the respective parties, and ensure that the statutory procedure runs smoothly.
We offer an efficient, professional service for building owners or adjacent owners from the service of Notices to the preparation of the Party Wall Award under the Party Wall Act.
Our Party Wall services encompass:
- Initial consultation
- Formalising appointments
- Service of, and response to, Party Wall Notices in accordance with the Party Wall Act
- Agreement of Party Wall Awards
- Agreement of Schedules of Condition
- Monitoring works to ensure compliance with Party Wall Award under the Party Wall Act
- Formal Sign-off from appointed surveyors
We can also advise building owners at the scheme design stage whether the Party Wall Act applies to the works.
We are members of the Pyramus & Thisbe Club and the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors, both organisations promote the highest standards of professional practice in implementing the Party Wall Act.
We are pragmatic, efficient, problem solvers. Our professional service mitigates risk to all parties, and ensures that projects can progress without delay.
