Daniel Connal Partnership has been appointed by a Colchester church to provide fire damage reinstatement cost advice, following an arson attack.
Wimpole Road Methodist Church, which dates from 1904, is a prominent building in the New Town area of Colchester. Built in the gothic style, it is home to a thriving congregation, with the adjacent church hall providing a meeting place for many local community groups.
The church in a conservation area, was recently targeted by arsonists, who broke into the building and set fire to sheets & towels. The intense fire destroyed the kitchen with adjacent corridors and rooms being severely affected by smoke damage.
Liaising with insurers and loss adjusters on behalf of the church, DCP will be overseeing a comprehensive programme of works to reinstate the kitchen and repair & clean the smoke damaged areas, ensuring that this valuable church and community asset is back in use as quickly as possible.
