BREEAM

If you are considering any form of sustainable development then you’re probably thinking about ways of measuring how green the space will be. Using the BRE’s Environmental Assessment Method is one way of measuring the sustainability score of your building.
Achieving a desired BREEAM rating can be complex, costly and time consuming. It is therefore essential to seek independent advice at the earliest stages of scheme design.
An assessment will consider the following:
• The impact your building is likely to have on the health and well being of future occupants
• The measures in place to reduce water usage and increase efficiency
• The responsible use of materials, water and waste management
• The management polices in place and how environmentally sound they are
• The location of your building and how this affects transportation to and from work and the resulting impact this has on CO2 omissions, in addition to land use, site ecological value and pollution.
• At the end of the assessment your scheme will be awarded one of five ratings based on its environmental performance. PASS, GOOD, VERY GOOD, EXCELLENT or OUTSTANDING.
At DCP we believe BREEAM doesn’t have to be complicated. Our qualified staff can guide you through the process with advice on how to achieve the best possible rating with the minimal amount of hassle.
